How have I used the platform of hot glue to present my work?
What is the outcome of my project?
Who is the audience?
Can it be interactive? What should I do different next time?
How do my finished work reflect this aspect of the brief?
I was trying to visualize dreams and present them to whoever my audiences are. I recorded my dreams and wrote them down. I made it like a menu. People can select their preferred dream, just like online shopping, each dream has a price tag attached. If you wish to purchase you will receive a pill with the exact dream content. After swallowing it, you will be able to dream it.
The audiences are those who have trouble sleeping or dreaming of something beautiful.
The Product:
The capsule contains the information of the designed dream that customers look for. After swallowing it, the person will be able to dream of what they want.
I managed to use hot glue like my online shopping website. Where it is perfect to visualize and materlize dreams. I also gave my project a surrealistic theme, to play around with the idea of how to possibly make ideal dreams by swallowing the capsule.
The Magical Room starts off from where I live every single day. The imagination begins from basic life, so I concentrated on the "bed", the biggest and the most frequently used furniture in my room. To expand my initial idea, I planned on choosing the topic of "Dreams". It can be a little abstract but not when I drew them down. I looked back on my dream record and decided to illustrate the ones which are intriguing. To complete my work, I chose to go for a more resonant approach and designed an online shopping website. There is nothing more exciting than a surrealist theme, so I drew up a theme and, as mentioned above, I became a dream seller. Highly interactive and fun, I hope to actually put my ideas into practice in the future. To bring help to those in need. That said, I think my finished work does fit the theme well, super "Magical".
Hot glue works like a presentation where it is originally not as interactive. If I would further develop my work, I wish to create a website that is similar to online shopping, thus I can put my project and product. The audiences can click the wanted product and put it in the shopping cart to purchase. In this way, the experience can be more interactive.

The Dream Notes

Dream 1:
Swam with dolphins and saved one of them.

Dream 2:
Binhdi (my dog) came along and told me to come home with her. I hugged her home and it was a sweet dream.

Dream 3:
I witnessed a group of deers chased by tigers and I was shocked and amazed by the power of nature.

Dream 4:
A very scenic place, surrounded by waterfalls and jungle, with a refreshing feeling of water vapour pounding on me. I took out my phone to take a picture but fell off and I didn't feel bad about it.

Dream 5:
My family and I were on a mission and from the sky train, we saw two workers on a distant bridge fall into the sea. We walked straight to the incident but couldn't see the two workers so I jumped off the shore. The feeling was so real, the water was cold, the seaweed was flowing with the waves and beams of light were shining into the bottom. The shades of colour changed as if I was actually diving. I looked around and saw a school of sharks. I immediately went ashore and informed everyone then we called the police.

A Trip to the Moon - the 1902 Science Fiction Film by Georges Méliès
After watching the film, it connects me to my childhood. The film has a kind of absurd comedy theme to it. What struck me most throughout the film was the sense of ritual. The 2D backdrop, the props with the acting, were more like a silent stage play, as without sound I was able to focus more on the story plot and the images. The whole play is about the adventures of a group of people who land on the moon and then return to Earth to announce the end of their journey. To me, the plot was absurd but cute and if I were a child I would have enjoyed watching it. Why would I say that it was absurd? Because a lot of the plot didn't conform to reality: people going into missiles and then launching to the moon; on the moon that people don't need spacesuits to breathe, lush plantings and inexplicable creatures. However, it is very immersive to watch because the plot is very rich and intense. At the end of the film, the adventurers retrieved. The crowds are unaware of the wretchedness of what has happened on the moon, continues to cheer and sing and dance. The contrast is very realistic, as people's enthusiasm is easily ignited and they are always curious about the unknown. The subject matter of the film is actually quite magical, just like the theme of my own work, I wanted to give the audience an unrealistic and fantastical journey.
